v0.1.0
Ichi 0.1.0
Ichi 0.1.0 is the first public beta: a calm place to read and edit the Markdown files you already own. It is available from Microsoft Store for Windows x64.
Added
- Read, Edit and Split views for every document, with a keystroke to move between them.
- Open a folder as a project, browse a familiar file tree, and create, rename, move and delete files.
- Work across multiple tabs.
- Quick movement with a command palette and quick open, project-wide search, and in-document find and replace.
- GitHub Flavoured Markdown, including front matter, tables, task lists, fenced code, local images and sanitised structural HTML.
- Local editor and appearance settings, including theme, default view, line numbers and font scaling.
- Time Machine local version history, with restore available while history is enabled.
- An optional local welcome project that introduces the core workflows.
Security
- Remote images are blocked until you explicitly allow them for a workspace.
- Structural HTML in documents is sanitised; scripts and unsafe attributes are removed.
Known limitations
- Windows x64 only. ARM64, 32-bit Windows, macOS and Linux builds are not available.
- Windows 10 through the Microsoft Store is planned but not yet available.
- Time Machine is local version history, not a backup; keep separate copies of important files.
- This is a focused public beta supported directly by its developer, not a general release.
